I’m Shakira, the creator behind The Pink Scribble, a lifestyle blog in Barbados, sharing real-life experiences around beauty, wellness, finance, and everyday life.
Where It All Began
Let’s rewind to 2015 — the year I accidentally fell in love with beauty.
I was glued to YouTube, watching skincare hauls and makeup tutorials like it was my job (and eventually, it kind of became one 😅).
By 2016, I was working in my first beauty-related role, helping clients with haircare, skincare, and makeup. This is where my interest in beauty and lifestyle content really started forming — long before becoming a lifestyle blogger in Barbados.
Stepping Into Entrepreneurship
In 2020, I launched my own online beauty store called Reigning Beauty.
It taught me everything about running a digital business — from hosting and email marketing to branding and customer experience.
This phase introduced me to the online world that later shaped The Pink Scribble as a lifestyle blogger in Barbados, especially around digital marketing and content creation.
Balancing Work, Healthcare & Growth
At the same time, I worked in healthcare and later in accounting roles, while also managing my business journey.
This season of my life taught me discipline, structure, and the importance of balance — even when juggling multiple responsibilities.
It also deepened my interest in wellness, mental health, and daily habits, which now show up in my content as a lifestyle blogger in Barbados.
The Shift Into Digital & Finance
Over time, I became more interested in digital income, SEO, affiliate marketing, and content creation.
I started learning everything I could about building online income streams and creating something that offered more freedom and flexibility.
This is where The Pink Scribble started forming as more than just an idea — it became a direction.
Where I Am Today
Today, I’m still working in a traditional role, but I’m actively building my path toward creativity, flexibility, and online independence.
The Pink Scribble is my space to share that journey as a lifestyle blogger in Barbados, documenting everything from wellness and Pilates to food, lifestyle moments, and real-life experiences.
