Not me looking up and realizing I haven’t published a new blog post since May 17th. 😭

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been lately, just know I haven’t abandoned The Pink Scribble and run off into the sunset or something 😭.

I’ve actually been here the entire time.

Well… mostly at my full-time job. 🫠

But when I’m not there, I’m usually somewhere between WordPress, Pinterest, Rank Math, Google Search Console, and a bottle of water that I’ve forgotten to finish three times already. 🥲

The funny thing is, I’ve probably spent more time working on my blog over the last few weeks than I have actually posting on it.

Between updating old posts and improving my SEO, I’ve been revisiting everything from my content creation setup to some of my older lifestyle posts that needed a little love.

But yeah… welcome to blogging. 🙃

Apparently Blogging Is More Than Just Writing Posts 😭

Remember when I thought all I had to do was write a cute little blog post, hit publish, and wait for the readers to come rolling in?

Yeah…

That was adorable.

What nobody tells you is that writing the post is only half the battle.

Lately I’ve been updating old posts, fixing SEO, adding internal links, writing meta descriptions, researching keywords, creating Pinterest pins, scheduling Pinterest pins, checking analytics, refreshing old content, and basically doing everything except starting a new post.

It’s actually been kind of fun revisiting posts from different seasons of my blogging journey and seeing how much both my content and writing style have evolved.

But at this point Pinterest feels less like a platform and more like a second job.

And don’t even get me started on SEO.

I’ve spent so much time staring at keywords lately that I swear I see green Rank Math scores when I close my eyes. 😭

The wild part is that readers don’t really see any of this work happening.

You see the finished blog post.

You don’t see me spending 45 minutes trying to decide which keyword deserves to be the main character.

Blogging While Working Full-Time

Now let’s add a full-time job to the equation.

Because apparently I enjoy making life difficult for myself. 💀

One thing I’ve learned is that blogging while working full-time requires a level of determination that I didn’t know I had.

Some days I come home from work ready to conquer the world.

I’m going to write a blog post.

Film a video.

Create Pinterest content.

Schedule social media posts.

Organize my life.

Drink more water.

Become a completely new person.

And then…

I sit down for five minutes.

Next thing I know I’m scrolling through TikTok wondering where the evening went. 😭

Other days I’m so tired that eating dinner feels like a major accomplishment.

It’s a constant battle between wanting to grow my blog and wanting to simply exist as a human being for a few hours after work.

The Consistency Struggle Is Real

Can we talk about consistency for a second?

Because social media makes it look like everybody else is posting every five minutes.

Meanwhile I’m over here trying to keep up with real life.

There have definitely been moments where I’ve thought:

“Great. Everyone probably thinks I’ve disappeared.”

Or:

“What if people stop reading because I haven’t posted in a few weeks?”

Or my personal favorite:

“What if The Pink Scribble just quietly fades into the background while I’m just busy working on seo optimization?”

Which is funny because if you’ve been keeping up with my recent life updates, you’d know life has been moving at full speed behind the scenes.

But lately I’ve been trying to remind myself that consistency doesn’t always mean constantly publishing new content.

Sometimes consistency looks like showing up behind the scenes.

Sometimes it looks like optimizing old content.

Sometimes it looks like creating Pinterest pins instead of writing blog posts.

And sometimes it simply looks like refusing to give up when things get busy.

The Small Wins That Keep Me Going 💕

Whenever I start feeling discouraged, I try to focus on the little things.

Seeing blog traffic increase.

Watching Pinterest impressions grow.

Getting comments from readers.

Seeing older posts continue to bring in views.

Those moments remind me that all of this behind-the-scenes work actually matters.

Because even though progress can feel slow sometimes, things are still moving forward.

And honestly?

That’s all I can ask for.

What’s Next for The Pink Scribble?

Despite my accidental disappearances 🥹, I have plenty of content ideas in the works.

More running updates.

More Pilates content.

More lifestyle posts.

More beauty finds.

More random life moments that somehow turn into blog posts.😂

And probably a few more home projects because apparently I don’t know how to sit still. 😭

I’m also continuing to work on growing The Pink Scribble behind the scenes because this little blog means a lot to me.

It’s not perfect.

It’s still growing.

But it’s mine.

And that’s what makes all the late nights worth it.

Wrapping up

Growing a blog while working full-time isn’t always easy.

Some days I’m motivated.

Some days I’m exhausted.

Some days I’m convinced I’m one Pinterest pin away from becoming a blogging genius.

Other days I can’t remember the password to something I’ve logged into a hundred times!!

But through all of it, I genuinely love what I’m building here.

So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been lately, chances are I’ve been buried somewhere between Pinterest, WordPress, my full-time job, and approximately 47 open browser tabs. 😬✨

The Pink Scribble is still here.

And so am I. 💕

Is it possible to be a successful blogger with a full-time job?

Yes. Many bloggers start and grow their websites while working full-time. Success often comes from staying consistent, creating quality content, and making time for blogging outside of work hours.
