Have you ever gone into a store knowing exactly what you wanted… then somehow left with things that weren’t even part of the original plan?

Yeah… that’s exactly what happened with my beauty restock. 😂

I gave myself a $50 budget because there were a couple of beauty products I’d been wanting to try for the longest time. Easy enough, right?

Wrong.

The second I got into the store, I remembered I was completely out of mascara, needed makeup remover wipes and somehow convinced myself that a new loofah wouldn’t hurt either.

Like, are we sticking to the budget or not? 🥲

Here’s everything that made its way into my shopping basket.

If you’re also someone who loves trying new beauty products, you might enjoy my beauty and self-care posts.

The Body Scrubs I’ve Been Eyeing

If there was one reason I walked into that store, it was these Bodycology body scrubs.

First of all, the scents are exactly what you would expect if you love sweet, tropical-inspired fragrances. They smell amazing, and honestly, choosing between them was harder than I expected.

I genuinely can’t remember what started my obsession with them 😂, but every single time I passed them I’d stop, pick one up, smell it… then put it right back.

This time I told myself, “Girl… just buy the scrub.”

After changing my mind about five times, I finally settled on:

After using them, I can say they do exactly what a sugar scrub is supposed to do — exfoliate and leave your skin feeling smoother.
I’m not expecting a scrub to completely transform my skin overnight, but if it can help remove that dry, dull feeling and leave me feeling fresh after a shower, then I’m happy.

The other thing I really appreciate about these scrubs is the price.

Body care products can get expensive very quickly, so finding something that works, smells good and is affordable enough that I can repurchase it without thinking twice is definitely a win.

These are definitely staying on my list.

Okay let’s talk about the things I actually needed for this beauty restock 😭

Some things weren’t exciting purchases…

They were simply empty. 😂

Cala Makeup Remover Wipes

This was definitely a restock, not a new discovery.

I’ve been using Cala makeup remover wipes since I was a teenager, and honestly… I’ve never felt the need to switch.

They remove my makeup, they’re easy to use and they’ve always been a product I can rely on.

I know some people love trying new products every time they shop, but when something works, I’m not always interested in replacing it.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

My mascara was DRY.

Not “getting there.”

Dry.

Usually, I reach for the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara, but unfortunately it wasn’t available at the time.

So I decided to grab an old time favourite: Maybelline Great Lash.

I’ve used this mascara before, so I already knew what to expect. It’s a reliable everyday mascara that gives my lashes a little definition without feeling like too much.

It’s not one of those dramatic, full glam mascaras, but for everyday wear, it gets the job done.

The Loofah I Randomly Added

This one wasn’t planned at all.

This was probably the most random purchase of the bunch.

I haven’t used a loofah in quite some time, but since I was already refreshing my shower routine, I just figured why not?

Having a fresh loofah paired with my new body scrubs definitely made shower time feel like a little self-care moment.

The Product I Definitely Didn’t Need 😂

Now let’s talk about the purchase that I absolutely did not need.

The lip gloss.

Technically, my clear lip gloss was almost finished, so I can defend myself a little…

But did I have other options at home?

Yes. 😂

As I was heading to checkout, I spotted a roll-on lip gloss that immediately reminded me of the ones from the late 90s and early 2000s.

If you know, you know.

Those glosses used to have our lips looking glossy for absolutely no reason. 😂

I saw there was a regular version and a glitter version, and obviously I went for the glitter because I wanted a little shimmer.

The problem?

The shimmer never showed up.

No shimmer. No sparkle. Just vibes. 😭

I kept applying it expecting to see some sparkle, but it was basically just a regular gloss. On top of that, I feel like I have to keep rolling the applicator to actually get enough product out.

Maybe I got a bad one, maybe I should’ve left it on the shelf… but this was definitely the most disappointing item from this haul.

Bonus Beauty Find: EOS Vanilla Cashmere Lotion

Okay, technically this wasn’t part of the same shopping trip…

But it’s still a recent purchase, so I’m counting it.

I finally got my hands on the EOS Vanilla Cashmere lotion.

Yes, I know.

I’m late.

As usual. 😂

Everybody has been talking about this lotion for ages and I finally understand why.

First of all…

Vanilla has me in a chokehold.

If there’s a vanilla version of something, there’s a very good chance I’m going to pick that one.

Second…

The moisture?

Chef’s kiss.

I’ve only been using it for a short while, but so far I’m really liking it.

Looking at everything together, I think this was a pretty successful little beauty restock.

Overall, I’m really happy with this beauty restock.

The Bodycology scrubs were the products I was most excited about, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. They’re affordable, smell amazing and do exactly what I need a body scrub to do.

The mascara and makeup wipes were reliable replacements, the EOS lotion was a pleasant surprise and the lip gloss…

Well, we’ll just leave that one there. 😂

Not every beauty purchase is going to be a favourite, but that’s part of the fun of trying new things.

Have you tried any of these products before? Or is there a beauty product you think I need to add to my next restock?
