🌞 Starting my no-spend weekend challenge…
I’ll be honest… I wasn’t sure if I’d actually stick to this no-spend weekend challenge. 😂
I woke up at 6 a.m., grabbed my camera and thought, “You know what? Let’s see if I can make it through an entire weekend without spending money.”
Considering I usually end up buying breakfast or convincing myself I deserve “just one little treat,” this was definitely going to test my self-control. 😭
So, I started the day with a simple goal: stay home, keep myself busy and see how much money I could save over the weekend.
🍳 Breakfast at home = my first little win
First things first… breakfast.

Instead of heading out like I normally would, I stayed home and made breakfast myself. I even plated it nicely because apparently once the camera comes out, I suddenly think I’m on a cooking show. 😂
One meal down…
Still hadn’t spent a single dollar.
I’d say my no-spend weekend was off to a pretty good start.
🧘🏽♀️ Pilates at home instead of the studio
Next up was Pilates.
Normally, I’d head to the studio and, if we’re being honest, one outing usually turns into two. Pilates somehow ends with breakfast, a snack or some random purchase I definitely didn’t plan for. 😭
Doing my workout at home ended up being one of the easiest ways to save money on the weekend, and honestly… I still got a great workout in.

That’s another win for the challenge. ✨
💻 Editing became my free weekend activity
After my workout, I sat down to edit…
Then somehow FIVE HOURS disappeared. 😭
Editing wasn’t technically part of my budget-friendly weekend plan, but it kept me busy and stopped me from wandering out of the house looking for something to buy.
Not that I was bored anyway… I’m a homebody, so spending a quiet afternoon at home is actually my idea of a good time. 😂
🍔 Plot twist… my boyfriend showed up with takeout 😂
Just when I thought Saturday was going exactly as planned…
My boyfriend pulled up with food. A CHICKEN BURRITO BOWL from Curbside Cafe 😭
Sir.
I’m literally filming a no-spend weekend over here. 😭
Now before anybody says I failed the challenge…

Let’s review the rules.
I said no spend.
I never said eat everything at home weekend.
Also, Iiiiii didn’t spend any money.
My bank account AND my purse stayed untouched.
So yes… I’m absolutely counting this as a win. 😂
💕 Saturday recap
So here’s where my no-spend weekend challenge stands after day one:
✅ Made breakfast at home
✅ Did Pilates at home instead of going to the studio
✅ Stayed productive by editing for hours
✅ Didn’t spend any money
And somehow… I still ended the day eating takeout without spending a cent.
I’d say Saturday was a success.
Now, does Sunday keep my winning streak going? 🤞🏽✨
🌿 Sunday reset mode activated
Sunday looked a little different… mostly because my morning started with me fighting for my life trying to edit this vlog. 😂 If you’re a content creator, you already know the struggle. Technology really has a mind of its own sometimes.
Once I finally got myself together, I looked around my room and thought… yeah, I need to do something about this.
So I spent some time tidying up and even rearranged my room a little. There is just something about moving furniture around that tricks your brain into thinking you’ve moved into a brand-new apartment. 😂✨ It instantly felt lighter, cleaner and honestly made me feel so much more relaxed.

One thing I quickly realized during this no spend weekend challenge is that productivity doesn’t always have to mean spending money. Sometimes a simple Sunday reset at home is all you need to feel refreshed and ready for a new week.

🏃🏽♀️ Plot twist… I went for a run!
After I finished cleaning, I looked outside and realized it was still bright.
Then I thought…
“You know what? I live close to the trail anyway… why not go for a run?”
And just like that, I quickly changed into my workout clothes and headed out the door.
The best part?
This was my first time ever running by myself. 🥹🎉
I’m not even going to lie… I was a little nervous beforehand, literally looking over my shoulder as I’m warming up 😭 but once I actually got going, I realized it wasn’t nearly as scary as I’d made it out to be in my head. It ended up being one of my favourite moments from this entire no spend weekend.
Usually my weekends involve paying for a Pilates class, but this reminded me that staying active doesn’t always have to cost money. Whether it’s a Pilates workout at home, going for a Sunday evening run, or simply getting outside for some fresh air, there are so many free ways to move your body and build healthy habits.
Safe to say… I’ll definitely be doing more solo runs. 💗🏃🏽♀️
🍽️ Home-cooked dinner hits different
By the time I got home, I was starving.
I honestly hadn’t eaten properly all day, so I convinced my sister to help me out with dinner while I cooled down. 😂
On the menu?
🍗 Baked chicken
🍚 Rice and peas
🍌 Fried plantains
🥦 Broccoli
Let’s just say… I cleaned my plate. 😭
Not only was it exactly what I needed after my run, but it was another reminder that cooking at home can save money without sacrificing a good meal.
And since we’re counting… that’s another meal I didn’t spend money on this weekend. A win is a win. 😂
💸 Was a no spend weekend actually worth it?
Honestly?
Absolutely.
Going into this no spend weekend challenge, I thought the hardest part would be resisting the urge to spend money.
Turns out… it really wasn’t.
Instead of spending money, I spent my weekend creating content, editing my vlog, cleaning and rearranging my room, going for my first solo run, and enjoying a delicious home-cooked dinner.
When I added everything up, I probably saved around $100 just by skipping my usual breakfast outings and Pilates class.
More importantly though, this weekend reminded me that you don’t have to spend money to have a productive, enjoyable weekend. Sometimes slowing down, appreciating what you already have, and making the most of simple moments is more rewarding than another trip to the mall or another meal out.
Would I do another no spend weekend?
Definitely!
It challenged me in the best way, helped me start a foundation for building better habits, and reminded me that some of my favourite moments this weekend were completely free.
And if that’s not a win… I don’t know what is. 🤍✨
