You know that one dish you’ve been wanting to make but never quite got around to? For my best friend and I, that was seafood broth. We’d talked about it and finally, we decided it was time to roll up our sleeves and get cooking. Spoiler alert: it was totally worth it!

the build-up: our cooking bucket list
For the longest time, making this delicious, hearty seafood broth was on our cooking bucket list. We’d had a few conversations about it—what ingredients we’d use, where we’d get them, and of course, how amazing it would taste. So, when we finally decided to make it, we knew we were in for a treat.
Now, I have to let you in on something… This is my best friend’s “secret recipe”, so consider yourself lucky to get the inside scoop! LOL.
the ingredients: simple yet spectacular
Here’s what we used to create this magical bowl of seafood goodness:
- Crab legs 🦀
- Celery
- Sesame oil
- Maggi cube (because flavor is key!)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Asian noodles
- Asian dumplings (shrimp & chicken)
Getting the right ingredients was crucial, so we made a quick stop at Singapura in the Limegrove Lifestyle Center, Holetown, Barbados. Their Asian noodles and dumplings were exactly what we needed, and surprisingly affordable too! If you’re looking to try some new Asian foods on a budget, this is your go-to spot.

let’s get cooking!
Once we had everything laid out, it was time to get to the fun part—cooking! We started by simmering the crab legs in a pot of water with celery and a touch of sesame oil. The aroma was already making my mouth water. Then, we added the Maggi cube, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
After a few minutes, we tossed in the Asian noodles and dumplings. Let me tell you, watching everything come together was like a scene out of a food show. We were stirring, tasting, and chatting the whole time. There’s something so satisfying about creating something delicious with your best friend.
the final product: taste bud explosion!
After about 30-45 minutes, our seafood broth was ready. We served up two big bowls, and let me tell you—Spectacular! Gimme 14 of ’em right now. I’m talking rich, flavorful broth with tender crab and dumplings that made us want to go back for seconds.
what’s next? more kitchen adventures!
After this successful kitchen adventure, I’m excited to try out even more recipes. Whether it’s experimenting with different types of seafood or venturing into a completely new cuisine, I’m all in! There’s nothing like the feeling of cooking something new, especially when it turns out amazing.
So, if you’re looking for a fun and affordable way to mix up your dinner routine, give this seafood broth a try. And don’t forget to stop by Singapura at Limegrove Lifestyle Center for those Asian noodles and dumplings—you won’t regret it!
Grab your best friend, hit the kitchen, and get cooking! Trust me, it’s an adventure you’ll want to relive over and over again. Happy cooking! 🥢🍜
