Okay sooo… let’s talk about it 😌💕
This year, I only decorated the outdoors for Valentine’s Day. And before anybody starts judging me — I have a VERY good reason. I simply did not feel like ruining my New Year reset on the inside just yet 😭. Like I just got the inside looking clean, calm, and Pinterest-worthy… and now I’m supposed to come in with pink hearts and glitter?? Nah.

So instead, I turned my patio into a soft romantic Valentine’s dream — but still minimal cute. Think “love shack” vibes…😌💁🏽♀️🎀.
The Vibe: Soft Romantic, Minimal Cute, and Just the Right Amount of Extra 💕
I wanted something romantic, sweet, and festive… but not so over-the-top that it looks like Cupid exploded on my patio 😭.
This was one of those “less is more” moments, but obviously still enough decor to make you stop and say, “wait… why is this actually so cute??”
And honestly? I think I ate because I’ve been getting that already. 🤭
The DIY That Actually Worked: Shower Curtain Liner Bows 😭🎀
Now let’s get into the main character moment… the bows.
So you know those trendy giant Valentine’s bows everyone has been making? Yeah. I wanted them BAD. Like I was literally DYING for these bows.
The only problem? Everybody was using the plastic tablecloths and my local stores did NOT have the ones I wanted. So instead of giving up, I did what any determined Valentine’s decor girly would do…
I used shower curtain liners.

YES. You read that correctly. 😭🚿🎀
And the crazy part? It worked perfectly.
All I did was cut off the excess material with the holes for the hooks (because why would I need that??). Then I grabbed the rest of the material and made a bow the same way you tie a shoelace. Literally. It’s THAT simple… just bigger and cuter obviously 😌💅🏽.

This was the only thing I actually DIY’d, but honestly? It deserves an award because I was out here improvising like I was on a decorating survival show. Anyways, watch this short clip of how I did it!
Everything Else I Used to Create My Patio Valentine’s Magic 💘✨
Even though the bows were the only DIY part, the rest of the decor is what really pulled everything together.
I found these adorable heart picks at my local dollar store, but Amazon has them too — and you already know I got you with the links (I saved all for the end) 😌💁🏽♀️💕.

I also used these soft pink roses, and fun fact: I actually recycled them from last year. BUT… I decided to use them in a totally different way this time.
Instead of putting them in a vase like a normal person, I used both the roses and the heart picks to hang from the ceiling so they looked like they were floating.

Floating roses and hearts?? In my patio?? Like HELLO?? That is so pretty I can’t even 😭🌹💘.
My Garland Hack 😌✨
Now let’s talk garland.
I used one piece of my Christmas garland as a base – then I intertwined my Valentine’s garland through it to get that fuller, more festive look.
It was simple, but it made a BIG difference. It gave the patio that “wow” factor without me having to buy ten different garlands like I’m decorating a mall.
I also added a heart wreath and a few bows for extra detail and honestly… boom. Cuteness overload 🎀💘

The Rustic Corner Moment: Farmhouse-ish, Cozy-ish, But It Worked 😭🪑
Okay so on the other end of the patio, I have this chair my grandmother gave me a while back. I always said I wanted to DIY it and fix it up… but of course I haven’t gotten around to it yet (because I’m booked, busy, and yeah whatever else sounds cool here💁🏽♀️).
BUT… I decided to use it anyway.
Even though it’s not quite giving “brand new Pinterest chair,” I felt like it added this rustic farmhouse vibe to the patio. Like a little cozy corner moment.
So stay with me.
I grabbed an old white throw blanket, a teddy bear, a lantern, some pom pom garland, and a HUGE bouquet of roses. Then I stuck some of those same heart picks and roses into my plant pots and GIRL…

That corner turned into a whole vibe. Like I wanted to sit there and sip something pink and pretend I’m in a rom-com 😭💕.

My Patio is Officially a Little Love Shack 💕🎀
Honestly, that’s really all I did — and I think it turned out BEAUTIFUL 😍.
It’s soft, romantic, festive, and still minimal enough that it doesn’t feel like I’m living inside a Valentine’s Day aisle at the store. It’s the perfect balance and I’m obsessed.
