lunch at Zemi Cafe: what was better, the view or the menu? 🍴🌴

This year, as a token of appreciation, my boss treated us to lunch at Zemi Café, located at the Hillcrest Community Centre in Bathsheba. Now, I’m not sure what impressed me more—the breathtaking view or the menu. Let me walk you through the day, plate by plate, laugh by laugh.

first impressions: art & ambiance 🎨✨

From the moment I walked in, I couldn’t help but notice the alluring wall art at the bar. It was bold, unique, and somehow felt perfectly at home. Wall art at a bar? Who knew that could be a thing!

As for the staff, they were super welcoming—no complaints there. We were seated quickly, and as soon as we saw the view, girrrrl, the cameras were OUT. Because let’s be real: if you didn’t take pictures, did you even go? 😂

seasonal menus: a reason to come back 📜🍽️

Zemi Café keeps things fresh with seasonal menus, which is honestly genius. You know how we feel about changes—it keeps us what? coming back!

Before diving into the food, we started with drinks. Call me basic, but I opted for lemonade, and let me tell you—it was refreshing! Who says you need alcohol to enjoy a good meal? Not me.

the star of the show: Lobster Linguine 🦞🍝

When it came to the food, my eyes landed on one word: LOBSTER. That was it. Game over. Everything else on the menu was invisible to me LOL.

I ordered the lobster linguine, and whewww, it did not disappoint. The pasta was smothered in a delicious tomato sauce, topped with fresh basil and shaved Parmesan. The taste was there, the portion was hefty and in a few minutes, my plate was empty!

I had initially planned to try their octopus special, but it wasn’t on this season’s menu. Oh well, next time!

lunch with the boss: awkward or awesome? 🤔😂

Here’s a little joke: when we first heard about this outing, we were all like, “Lunch with the boss? That’s gonna be… weird.” You know what I mean. Likeeee, come on… who eats with their boss?

But surprisingly, it was the opposite. We laughed, chatted about work, Christmas, and everything in between. It wasn’t awkward at all—turns out it’s only weird until it’s done.(Adrian, if you’re reading this, thanks for not making it weird LOL.)

service fit for a foodie 🍽️🌟

One thing that stood out was the attentiveness of the staff. Multiple people checked on us throughout the meal to ensure we were happy and comfortable. It’s the little things that make a big difference.

Fairmont Royal Pavilion, maybe y’all should take some notes! Ahahaha. Not even kidding.

dessert? a slice of tradition 🎂🎄

By the time dessert rolled around, I was stuffed from the lobster linguine, but the foreman kinda insisted so I opted for the Bajan Christmas Cake (a.k.a. Great Cake or Rum Cake). It’s a holiday classic, and while I was too full to fully appreciate it, the flavors were rich, festive, and oh-so-Bajan.

will I go back? 🌊❤️

The afternoon was relaxing and filled with good food and laughter. Huge shoutout to Adrian for the treat! Would I go back? Zemi Café is definitely worth a second visit.

Would I go out with the team again? Hmm, my anxiety might make me overthink it first, but we’ll see. 😄

Have you ever been to Zemi Café? What did you think of the food, the vibe, or the view? And if you have recommendations for other cafés, drop them in the comments. Let’s explore together!
