Welcome back to my holiday decorating saga! It’s been a wild ride, but we’ve finally made it to part two, and let me just say—it’s been a mix of laughs, and near meltdowns (but in a festive way, of course). Let’s dive into how I transformed my bedroom, kitchen, and outdoor space into a holiday wonderland. It was not without drama.🙃
bedroom bliss: hello sunshine! 🌞
When it came to my bedroom, I wanted a vibe that was bright, open, and simple. My color palette revolved around sunny yellows, which isn’t my go-to wardrobe color, but somehow, I managed to find a few pieces to match the decor. (My clothing rack was definitely vibing!)

Now, here’s the kicker—scrunchies as curtain ties. Yes, you read that right. Weird and unconventional? Maybe. Cute and functional? Can’t tell me not. Oh and I’m a minimalist so there’s not too much going on in my bedroom. Nexxtttt…

kitchen festivities: the ribbon chase 🎁🍴
The kitchen was my sister’s idea. She made me do it. (Yes, I’m saying that in the most forced tone of voice.) But you know what? It turned out super festive!
We wrapped the cabinets like gifts, complete with bows that almost didn’t happen. Why? Because finding navy blue ribbon in Barbados was like looking for snow—nonexistent! I searched high and low, called every store, and luckily “Slaying Christmas” saved the day. Bless them! It was about to be navy blue or NOTHING! Yeah, don’t tell her I said that. 😬 Well… the minimal decor on the counter alone wouldn’t have been too bad, right? 🥴

Speaking of the counter, we added a holiday-themed “Cookie Butter Truffle” candle from Bath & Body Works and OMG, this candle smells like a warm vanilla hug. It’s so good, I’m about to be burning this all day long!

outdoor adventures: snow art struggles ❄️🌟
Now for the outdoors. Decorating the trees and putting up garland? A breeze. But the snow art on the window? Geez! I almost didn’t even bother with that.
First, I needed stencils because let’s face it—I’m creative but not Michelangelo. I didn’t even waste my time searching for those locally (Barbados problems), so I decided to DIY them. Deep breath everyone… ’cause that’s when the real drama started.

I needed a hobby knife, and apparently, that’s a foreign item in this part of the world. Again, I visited multiple stores and made countless calls. I even found the blades without handles. Like omg, what is going on? That’s like serving cereal without milk!
Sigh, the day was passing me by. I got completely frustrated and overwhelmed and did what any rational person would do—I went straight to bed. Friend, it wasn’t even night time.
Literally moments later, a kind soul supplied me with a hobby knife, and I finally got to work. Look at God! I didn’t even have to worry about purchasing one anymore. Cutting out stencils was tedious and time-consuming, but the final result? Totally worth it. My snow art turned out so cute, I almost forgot the struggle. Not really.

wrapping up: my holiday wonderland 🎅🏽🎁
And that’s a wrap for my holiday decor this year! From scrunchie curtain ties to a full-on ribbon chase, it’s been an adventure. But seeing everything come together made all the effort (and minor breakdowns) worth it.
What about you? How’s your decorating going this year? Are you keeping it simple or going all out? Let me know in the comments—and if you’ve ever had to hunt for impossible-to-find craft supplies, let’s sympathize together.
Wishing you all a merry, magical Christmas filled with joy, laughter, and maybe a few scrunchies. 🎄
Stick around for more festive fun, and don’t forget to check out part one if you missed it! 🎁✨
