Hi, I’m Shakira, and I’m a self-proclaimed Christmas baby. The kind who has their tree up WAY too early because “I have so much to do.”
👀.
The truth is, I just get way too excited about Christmas every single year… religiously. Don’t tell anyone. Ahaha. 🎅🏽But hey, if you and I are similar, you’ll understand the joy of holiday decorating. It’s like giving your home a cozy little hug.
Since we’re already on the “tree topic,” let’s talk about what magic I created this year!
black, white, silver and a touch of gold ✨🎄
Originally, I wanted to go for a gold and emerald greenvibe—a little vintage, a little glam. But somewhere along the way, I ended up down the black and white path. Was it an accident? Who knows. Did it turn out fabulous? You bet.
Here’s the kicker: I added hints of gold and silver, and that’s when the magic really happened. It brought an elegance to the theme that I wasn’t even expecting. The tree sparkles just right, and it feels both modern and cozy. Minimalist girls, we are winning!

curtains & throw pillows: small details, big impact 🛋️🖤
Next up: the details that can either make or break a living space—curtains and throw pillows. I like to keep it minimal, so nothing too crazy. My black throws and simple curtains were a solid base.
But then I found gold and white cheetah print covers—and let me tell you, that was a HAPPY DANCE moment. 🐆 I actually found them at Dollarwise (so inexpensive!). Funny enough, I already had some covers that I wasn’t too keen on, so this was a perfect upgrade. Sometimes the little wins are the best.

DIY & that life-changingwall 🎨🖌️
This is where we really get down to brass tacks. For a while now, I’ve been side-eyeing my orange accent wall – and by side-eyeing, I mean I was getting borderline depressed just looking at it. It was just ugh, to say the least.
So, I finally did it. I went bold with navy blue, and ohhh what a difference it made! It’s cozy, chic, and versatile. A color I can actually play with when it comes to home accents. Trust me, it’s like a breath of fresh air.

Oh, and you won’t believe this: my “HOME” signage used to be GREEN. Yeah. Green. 😳 That definitely ran its course, so I whipped out my artsy little self and spray painted it black. Now it blends perfectly with my new theme. “DIY queen” moment? I think so😏.

picture wall glow-up & staircase perfection 🖼️🎀
Let’s move on to the picture wall. Every year, I switch out the photos for something festive. Random words, cute illustrations—you name it. As long as the colors work with my theme, we’re good to go.
But this year? Oh, I went extra. I added these really adorable mini wreaths and even made some bows to match🎀. Can we all agree that it’s the cutest thing ever? The bows gave just the right amount of charm.

Now, the staircase decor. It’s always one of the first things I decorate because it’s simple and easy but totally on brand. This year, I added these super cute plush stockings from Slaying Christmas. The soft, cozy vibe they bring? Absolute perfection.

what’s your christmas theme this year? 🎅🏽❄️
And that’s a wrap for part one of my holiday decorating saga. What do you think? Are you team “Christmas tree up in November,” or do you wait patiently for December?
Tell me all about your Christmas themes this year! Have you gone traditional, modern, or something bold and unexpected? Drop your ideas in the comments—I want to hear it all!
Stay tuned for part two, where I’ll be tackling the outdoors, the kitchen, and maybe even my bedroom (because why not?). If you’re as excited for Christmas as I am, you won’t want to miss it! 🎄✨
