Helloooo beautiful people, today I’ll be showing you how I DIY’d my latest creation. Hopefully it inspires you even in the tiniest way. Okay, so boom — my boyfriend wrote me this cute letter when he first joined the military 🥹 and I’ve been holding onto it ever since. It’s one of those “you can’t throw this away even if you move across the world” type of things. But since it was written on regular paper, it started getting so delicate. Like… blink too hard and it might rip delicate 😭
So me being me — I decided I needed to secure it, protect it, and obviously make it cute. ✨
🪞 what I used:
- Pink glittery bristol board (obviously 💖)
- Glue
- Pencil + ruler
- Mini flowers (they came in tiny bouquets but I had plans 👀)
- Scissors
- Gorilla tape
- The letter itself (the star of the show 💌)
💐 step 1: set the scene
First things first, I measured out about an inch and a half on each side to make a border. I wanted the letter to look framed even without an actual frame — just something neat and balanced.
💌 step 2: stick It down
Once everything was lined up, I stuck the letter onto the bristol board, using the gorilla tape rather than the glue. I have to be gentle here — this paper’s old.💀
After making sure it was nice and flat, centered and cute – time for the next step.
🌸 step 3: flower time!
Now for the fun part 🌸
The mini flowers originally came as tiny bouquets, but I separated them one by one for the look I wanted. Then I placed them all around the border until it looked right — a little pink garden framing my letter 🥹
Once I was happy, I glued them down. (Lowkey talked to them like, “Okay, behave and stay there!” 😂)
✨ step 4: the ta-da moment
And just like that — a masterpiece. She’s sparkly, sentimental, and secured for life. I could even frame it if I wanted to. Now every time I look at it, it feels even more special — it’s not just a letter anymore, it’s our little piece of art. 💖
💭 final thoughts
This DIY was super easy, affordable, and honestly therapeutic. You really don’t need fancy supplies to make something sentimental look beautiful. Just a little creativity, glue, and glitter.
