Today was a new and exciting day for me—I attended my very first Pilates class! As part of my ongoing commitment to health and body positivity, I’ve been looking for activities that not only help me feel good physically but also mentally. So, I booked a session with Red Zen Pilates Studio, and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped for and more.

small classes and a perfect location

One thing that immediately stood out to me was how small and personal the class sizes are. I love that! It felt intimate and welcoming, like a space designed just for us. The studio is located in the beautiful and secluded Rockley Resort & Golf Club, which made the whole experience even more special. The ambiance was top tier—peaceful and quiet, surrounded by greenery. Just stepping into the studio, I already felt a sense of calm wash over me.

Our guest instructor for the day was Dawn, and she was an absolute sweetheart! I had no idea what I was doing (seriously, zero clue! 😂), but Dawn’s calm and soothing presence made it all seem doable. At no point did I feel out of place or like I didn’t belong. Her instructions were clear, easy to follow, and she gave everyone just the right amount of attention. It’s amazing how comfortable and at ease I felt, considering this was my first time doing Pilates!

disconnecting from the outside world

For the entire session, I felt totally disconnected from the outside world. The focus on breathing, controlled movements, and being present in my body made me forget everything else. Pilates is known for its focus on core strength and flexibility, and even though I was new, it felt achievable. My body moved in ways I didn’t think possible, and it felt so refreshing to stretch, tone, and release tension.

By the end of the session, I felt completely revitalized. It wasn’t just a workout; it was an experience. I knew right away that I was going to book another class—so, guess what? I’m going again next Saturday! Red Zen Pilates Studio is officially part of my wellness routine now, and I can’t wait to keep improving my strength, posture, and overall body awareness through Pilates.

Of course, I had to treat myself afterward! I stopped by Starbucks for a little post-Pilates pick-me-up—because balance, right? It was the perfect way to round out such a fulfilling day, sipping my iced matcha latte and reflecting on how amazing the class made me feel.
