You know how some things just live on your bucket list for way too long? Well, for me, that thing was Copacabana Beach Club. It’s literally been there forever, just waiting patiently for its time to shine. And guess what? It finally happened. 💃🏽
Fitting right into my “explore with me” era (as I like to call it), I finally got the chance to tick this one off the list. Spoiler alert: the day was equal parts of relaxing, funny, and… oddly interesting. Let’s get into it.
day pass and first impressions 💳👙
There were three of us, and we opted for the day pass—$60 BBD each, with $50 redeemable in food and drinks. A pretty sweet deal if you ask me!
The beach? Packed. The music? Pumping. The sun? Definitely making itself known! It was one of those days where the heat had you questioning every decision that led to you being outside. But we powered through.
For some odd reason, none of us understood whether our pass included access to the lounge chairs or the day beds so we went back to double-check. They said we could use whatever we wanted. Best believe we headed STRAIGHT for those day beds! Ain’t had to tell us twice!
the photo ops begin 📸🌊
Once settled, our first order of business was a classic photo session. Because if you don’t have pictures, did you even go? We took shots from every angle, trying to capture the perfect mix of beach vibes and “effortless” relaxation. Spoiler: it’s never as effortless as it looks. 😅
the mystery drinks saga 🍹🤔
This is where things took a turn for the… interesting.
We ordered drinks to start (because hydration, obviously), and apparently, there was this guy at the bar who was interested in me. Now before I saw him, the answer was already no and when I actually saw him, it was NO in CAPS LOCK!
Soon after… the waiter brought us an extra set of drinks that we didn’t order. Turns out, the guy at the bar decided to send them over. Cute gesture? Sure. But then it got weird.
By the time we ordered food, another round of mystery drinks appeared. And it didn’t stop there. This guy, who I had not even looked at, let alone spoken to, just kept sending round after round. By the end of it, we had 4 or 5 rounds of drinks sitting there.
Did we drink them all? Nope. Some had to be dumped (RIP to the cocktails), but shoutout to the mysterious benefactor for keeping my friends thoroughly hydrated. 😂
coconut refreshments and trinkets 🥥💎
As the day went on, I decided to treat myself to a coconut.There’s something so satisfying about sipping fresh coconut water on a hot day. Not to mention, it makes for a great Instagram moment. 🌴
A guy also came around selling beaded jewelry—think anklets, bracelets, and necklaces. They were cute, but none of us brought enough cash to buy anything. This is your sign, street vendors: start accepting card payments! Just kidding… kind of.
a good vibe overall🌞🍹
Other than the unexpected drink fest, my day at Copacabana was full of good vibes. The beach was beautiful, the music kept the energy up (and down, because after while, what was even playing?) and our waiter was amazing. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name, but he was so attentive that we ended up tipping him.
It was a fun, relaxing experience with just the right amount of entertainment.
