Saturdays are for Pilates and cafe’s—well, for me, at least! After my morning Pilates session, I set out to explore a new café because, let’s face it, options are everything. This week, the spotlight landed on Peter’s Bakery, a relatively new spot conveniently located on the south coast of Barbados. But is it worthy of a permanent spot on my list of favorites? Let’s dive into the sweet (and slightly sour) details.

first impressions: ambiance & treats galore 🍞🎂
Walking into Peter’s Bakery felt like entering a little haven of delicious possibilities. The shelves were stacked with sweet treats, freshly baked bread, and even unique finds like flavored kombucha and sourdough rolls. The ambiance? Fresh, inviting, and definitely Instagram-worthy (don’t worry, I took pictures 📸).
With so many options, the real challenge was deciding what to try.

what I ordered: hits & misses 🥪🍓
After much consideration, I settled on a ham and cheese sandwich paired with a strawberry basil smoothie (sounds fancy huh?). Both were solid choices—good, but nothing that made me want to do a happy dance. 🤷🏽♀️
But then came the game-changer: the mango kombucha. Y’ALL. It was fizzy, fruity, and everything kombucha dreams are made of. I know some people shy away from kombucha because of its “unique” taste, but this one? Chef’s kiss. 👌🏽

the passionfruit doughnut letdown 😕🍩
On my way out, I couldn’t resist grabbing one of the passionfruit doughnuts that looked too good to pass up.But once I took a bite, I had to ask, “Where’s the passionfruit?” Like, was it hiding? It tasted more like a plain doughnut, which wasn’t bad, but not what I was hoping for. Safe to say, it’s not making my “must-try-again” list. Didn’t get a picture of that one, unfortunately.
prices & final thoughts 💵✨
The prices were a little higher than your average bakery, but given the variety of unique offerings (hello, kombucha and sourdough), it made sense. While not every item wowed me, Peter’s Bakery still gets points for creativity and ambiance.
Would I go back? For that mango kombucha, absolutely. For the passionfruit doughnut? Probably not. But hey, if you’re on the south coast and looking to try some new café treats, Peter’s Bakery is worth a visit. Who knows? Your new fave might be waiting for you on their shelves!
